John Kuzmich
John has 45+ years of public school teaching experience with specialties in jazz education, music technology and in videoconferencing instruction equally competent on all the woodwind and brass instruments. One of John’s unique talents is to personally place his students in colleges with music scholarships as a high school band director for 25 years. His academic background also includes a Ph.D. in comprehensive musicianship. As a freelance author, he has more than 800 nationally published articles and five textbooks to his credits. As a clinician, Dr. Kuzmich frequently participated in workshops throughout the U.S., Europe, Australia, and South America and taught on five continents including mainland China. Dr. John was the senior editor of three national music educator magazines: Jazz Educators Journal, The Instrumentalist and the American Suzuki Journal and has won 5 Gold medals as a high school band director at the 1966 and 1970 World Music Contest in Kerkrade, Holland.
